Freezing My Glass Off!.

Minus 30 with windchill minus 40
The view from my office
Heeelloooooo,
Is anybody out there?
If only it was not about
20.000 to replace
all the windows in this 100
year old home.
Only the windows facing North are
Iced Over.
So what do we do in minus 40 weather
Well I started my day making Cookie Monsters
on my window,
then I proceeded to get a coffee,
there is no time for sipping coffee,
you have to gulp it down
if you want it warm,
a hot cup of coffee is an unknown concept
here in Frosty Land,
see no steaming coffee here,

and there is no time for reading newspapers
in the water closet,
no siree, it is get in and get out,
For fun today we see if we can see our breath
and we try to capture it on camera,
and well the dog going outside
well lets just say it is time consuming
first we have to get him dressed,
then we have to convince him to get off the couch,
then we have to tell him,
Oh your a lucky boy,
you get to go outside,
just be careful or you may freeze to a snowbank,
Oh your such a good boy,
you'' get a treat when you come in,
and all the while you know he
is thinking you go take a pee outside
if you think it is so much fun
and I will give you a treat,
I won't drool on the couch,
because I am not leaving here all day.
Lucky dog, my barking glass,
turn up the heat in here!
Oh they did, they did!
And look what one of the humans is doing today,
He is not getting out of bed or out of his pjs,
a day off, a do nothing day.
Cinner we are not moving,
in fact this is your story
leave me alone,
My fuzzy pink slippers and my flannel pjs.
and you jump into bed into flannel blankets,
but dare not roll over because flannel sticks to flannel
almost like velcro...
in case you ever need to know that.
the other thing about this old house
is the old porcelain tub,
you can fill it with hot water,
but the tub itself never warms up
I am not joking, so no lingering baths here either,
and because the sides of me touch the sides of the tub,
the only way you can stay warm is to flop like a fish on it's side,
and well thats just more info than you need to know.
So yes living in the great White North has its difficulties,
and I know if another Canadian reads this,
I will be called a Wimp,
so just saying that will be
Mrs. Wimp to you.,
Gotta run and dive back into bed,
on my mark 1. 2. 3 ready go.
Take care

Hey give me the blanket,
get over, your freezing,

    1. Brian on the news tonight they showed a couple from another country that have moved here and he said he just can not believe people can live here in this...quite a shock for people whom come from a country where there was no snow....they have no concept about it until they feel the experience....all is good though. take care, thanks for always visiting. smiles

  3. Cindy....I had to RE-READ the temperature you posted.
I read it twice. Yep....you said "Minus 30 and with windchill Minus 40"... Oh my goodness!!! I cannot even begin to imagine that. When it turned 30 degrees (plus 30) we built a fire and considered it deeeep winter here.
I hadn't thought about the fact that the dogs have to go outside in that kind of temperature....regardless! I don't know why I didn't think about it....but I didn't. First of all, I can't imagine it being that cold....brrrrr....and then to have to go outside!!! Double brrrrr.
It's winter here (south Georgia)....but it is 72 degrees outside right now (1:25 P.M. EST.) I will send you a bit of warm air. I'm waving my arms heading it in your direction as I type (typing and waving arms toward Cinner's home...)
Your slippers look snuggly and warm. Enjoy those covers and the comfort of the warmth inside your home. Take care of you, my friend.
    Love,
    Jackie

    1. Jackie, I can just see you waving your arms, up until this week it was so mild, winter in Georgia sounds wonderful and warm, I would be outside in a tshirt and sandals. Wain had parked the truck facing south in front of our house, because lots of times with the strong north winds the vehicles sometimes won't start even though they are plugged in. He went out this morning and had a fifty dollar parking ticket for facing the wrong direction. you would think in this weather it would be allowed, needless to say he was not happy....we did laugh about it though. Hope you had a great day, hugs and love to you.

  7. Yikes, Cinner! I am a true wimp as I freeze my tail off when it gets below freezing here in WA state. Our heating system can't keep up if it goes into the 20's and it gets very, very cold inside--50's inside. But it sounds like you're in the same boat. And why does everything cost in 5 figures? Everything we can think of to do to solve our housing problem is like that. But you have a good attitude, as per usual, especially about the tub. I can envision that exactly from your description--wow. That human in bed looks like that's the right idea :) Sending your love and warmth, xoO

    1. Olivia, every day I pray that my furnace holds on, and yes money, money, money everything costs so much, hard with me not working, but somehow we manage....they showed homeless people out in this today, very disheartening. hope you are well, stay warm. hugs.

    1. Beth I don't have to go out in this or at least very seldom...we had a change of 35 degrees since last week so
it is quite the thing. Every time I got cold today I jumped into bed. lol. hugs to you, I need to get an electric blanket. I used to have a down filled comforter and that kept us warm but I developed allergies...enjoy your mild weather. lol.
