My Yard

This is one of my favorite flowers that bloom in the yard. It is a clematis. This will be its second year so I am anxious to see how it does this summer. We still have no color in the yard so I have been enjoying looking through old pics.

We are having the eavestroughing and the works done to the house. Yesterday two of the crew were here and one commented about the yard. He said, This is a beautiful backyard, you have your own park he said. I said well you should see it when all the flowers are blooming! My house is 860 square feet. I use the outside like an extension of the house. I love my little house and can not imagine having a huge house with barely a yard. I don't like to be inside, I like to barbecue,,,my husband is a great cook. I putz in my yard, feel the warmth of the sun on my body, I dance in the rain...some rains are so nice and warm....and I don't care what the neighbors think. I sit and draw or just be....lost in the peace that surrounds me. I may have mentioned this before but last year a picture of my pond made it into the neighborhood paper. Last Saturday I was asked if I wanted to be one of the judges judging the front yards. I was flattered and as long as I am feeling well enough...I will do it, should be quite fun and I can get some ideas for my next project. On Tuesday my husband took me to Canadian Tire to get some plants as here in Canada we can usually plant on the May long weekend. As we were driving it was raining and that turned into snow. It was very cold so I did not get much of a chance to look around. I won't venture back on the weekend as it will be way too busy for me. Anyway I hope you are all enjoying time outside. I have seen some fabulous photos on some of the blogs I follow....They keep me going until mine come up. Heres to a lovely spring and summer ahead of us. Take Care, its 421 am and I think I might just go back to bed before the birds start singing.

  3. I'm with you on loving a smaller house and 'extending' my space outdoors. But it hit 100 degrees here yesterday, so now I'm driven IN until September, except for the wee hours of the morning and after sunset. sigh. Once our boys are gone (& show evidence of not coming back - ha!), I'd like to downsize -- we have 1,400 SF and already one room we call the 'museum room' cuz all we do in it is fold laundry ... pffft. I have to wonder when I watch shows like House Hunters what is WRONG with these people who whine that 2,200 SF is too small for 4 people ... whatever.

Love that clematis ... how COOL to be a judge, let us know how it goes. And what ARE you doing up at 4:15 a.m? (asks she who, yesterday, woke up at 3 a.m. and was up the rest of the day!)

  4. Hi Lois, I am excited about judging. I am starting to think summer is not coming. I awoke to sleet and snow again...everything is just mud! So keep your fingers crossed for me. Thanks, Take care, hope you are well. cinner

  6. Hi Toni, I just want a couple days in the 80's. we had more snow today. The workers took the afternoon off and I feel overwhelmed with all this mud, etc. Anyway, breathe Cinner Breathe. 100 degrees would do me in for sure. If I had a 2400 square foot house, all I would be doing is cleaning. not for me, they can have it. I hope you are feeling better today. I am coming to check your blog right now. Hugs, cinner

  7. your clematis flower is beautiful...this is one of Suzanne's favorites and we have two of the vines on one side of our home. She also started one at her Mom's place and at 2 or 3 its gotten real big....

  8. I wish you sunny days, sooner than later! Like Toni, it is already overwhelmingly hot here. We get out really early, and then later in the evenings. It was sure nice from about March until now, but this heat. I am ill-prepared.

We sat outside in the rain today. Feels nice!
