Feb. 10, a beautiful day!

This is a primulus that made it's way home,
Instantly it brightened my day,
Three lovely blooms with a bright star for the center,
Then I looked again at all the new life
ready to open in the very near future.
This is a sign of Spring,
I just know it,
Today the weather was just at -2 degrees,
It was a wonderful, fresh, beautiful day.
I sat outside and took pictures of some of the birds,
They were right spry with me today.
I heard the sound of a blue jay,
the first one I have heard in a while,
they usually come later in the summer.
Hubby is going to pick up some peanuts,
just in case they are hungry.

This is the best photo  I got today,
it is a little blurry but that just keeps me wanting to
keep trying to get a better shot!

And when I am outside,
this is what happens from the inside,
sitting and moping on why oh why,
do I have to stay in here.
Sparky chases the bird, cat, other dog,
really is just a bundle of energy!
.
When my husband came home he brought this,
I said what are you doing,
He said well it was no cake,
but I think he liked lemon meringue pie.
I was touched by this act of kindness.
My Dad would have been 75 today,
please see previous post to make more sense of the pie.
Nobody says what the right thing to do is,
so we just did what we needed to do in our hearts.!
In honor of my Dad I had an absolutely wonderful day!
I thought dying meant someone was gone forever,
memories become stronger and stronger,
and with those our happiness comes back!
And our love remains!
Lastly, none of us are perfect,
Luckily, none of us are meant to be.
..........
Sorry such a long post today.
It will make up for days
when I have
nothing to say!
............
I embraced my day,
embracing my life is a great thing!
I think it is what we are meant to do.
One little thing at a time.

  6. That is a nice husband tuned into your feelings and sharing your dad's birthday with you. What a sweet gesture to have the happy birthday message inscribed on the lemon meringue pie! I like it that you say "In honor of your dad you had an absolutely wonderful day." And you shared it with everyone here. Thanks.

  12. Hey, you. I am so, so far behind on my blog visiting. But, here it is nearly Valentine's Day and I had to stop by and wish you a great one. A wish from me:

On this day, may you know, really know how much you are loved. May you recognize love in all it's forms. May you be grateful for the love of children and pets, old friendships and lovers. May your heart swell with all the beauty this life brings. Happy Valentine's Day, my friend.
