Slave Lake, Admiration and Memories

There is approximately one third of the town gone. As of yesterday there were still 84 fires burning in our Province, thousand of acres of land have been destroyed, families have watched everything they had be destroyed. Amazingly I have not heard of anyone whom was hurt. I know I would be devestated and my heart goes out to all the residents. I have been very proud to see the generosity of others and how people step up with donations, etc. Firefighters flew in from all over Canada. People come together in times of trouble and chaos. People have still not been let back into Slave Lake due to the dangers of gas leaks, power outages, and all the damage from the fires. Some people still do not know if they have a home to go back to. ...Even though it is a holiday weekend here I am praying for rain for Northern Alberta to help squash any existing fires. Be safe this weekend whether you are on land or water....appreciate every moment, be compassionate, be grateful........
And on this holiday weekend I am remembering my friend Derrick and his son whom were taken from us in a storm on the water four years ago. We all remember your smiling faces....
So have a great weekend everybody. Life is such a gift, I hope you enjoy your very best of days. Until next time take care, Cinner
