It is 4.02 and soon it will be dark, of course
the further North you go the sooner it gets dark.
Funny how the days and nights come and go.
Tonight we are going to put up our Christmas Tree.
We usually have it up long before this.
I love sitting and watching the lights twinkle and dance.
I enjoy every little decoration that we hang up.
The ones that are homemade and were given to me as gifts
I cherish the most. I swear decorating the tree is my
favorite part of Christmas, or is it, the company, the food,
Christmas Carols, the Christmas parties. I just love it all.
I don't seem too big on Christmas presents.
I get more out of watching kids opening their packages
and watching their excitement. I would love to bottle that, it
just makes me so happy to watch and hear them laughing,
and jumping up and down overjoyed.
Yes the kids are the best part of Christmas.
Tonight decorating the tree I am going to be a kid.
I always am.
Until next time,
Cinner
smiles...have fun doing the tree...and be a kid for sure...haha...there is christmas magic in that...
ReplyDeleteBrian for some reason it just makes sense this time of year to not take anything seriously. love being a kid.
DeleteEnjoy the Christmas season with your family and alla the best in the New Year.
You made me smile just knowing that you will be enjoying the tradition of the tree and being a kid. I've always said there is no future in growning up. tee hee
ReplyDeleteThe grands and the rest of the Cuckoos will be decorating our tree tomorrow night. This will be the first time in the three years the kids have been back that they will be using their own ornaments....Shelley just couldn't face what wasn't anymore...but this year she is excited and so are the grands to get back their lives and their Christmas ornaments....
xoxo Oma Linda
By now your tree is all decorated. I can understand why Shelley was not ready. I still have two from when I was married the first time, it took a while to finally let a lot of them go. forward and onward I guess. I got the most beautiful card in the mail on Friday. Thank you so much, that was so kind. I did not get one in the mail for you, thanks for your address for the future though. Thanks Linda for all you do. I want you to know how much I value our friendship. Hug and love to all. A high five to Shelley for me....
DeleteWhat great pleasures you have written about...and each of them make me smile so much.
ReplyDeleteI love the joy and the anticipatory look on the faces of the children as they await Christmas morning.
Decorating the tree is a wonderful memory for me, too!! Thank you for this lovely blog.
Have a wonderful time this evening as you put up and decorate your tree.
May our hearts always remain young!

SueAnn you sound like me, I so love the tree. I laid on the couch the other night and fell asleep watching the tree. It was so relaxing. I hope you are doing well. I need to get back on here more so that I can
Deleteget around to visiting all. hugs and Merry Christmas to you.
Join the rest of us in the playground, my friend. We are all kids at heart at Christmas time. It would be nice to bottle the joy for use year round.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me join the playground.
DeleteI agree if only I had this energy all year round. So glad to have gotten your email. Have a merry Christmas.
I think the tree is truly the centre of Christmas -- it's what makes the holiday unique!
ReplyDeleteIt really is Debra, just does not feel quite like Christmas until you put the tree up. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to your family and HRH.
DeleteHello Love - i love being a kid too - "Annie" is excited to see your tree. Big hugs to thte kid in you from 'Annie'
ReplyDeleteLove Gai/Annie
peace.....
Hey...one day we will decorate together, would that just not be awesome. And we will sip some wine together my friend too.
DeleteI felt like that when I put up the Scottie tree. It's small and on top of the mantel space. I have so many beautiful ornaments but haven't a big tree any longer. I gave lots of my Christmas things to Laura for the girls. I liked that I've done that. This year, I note that I haven't pulled out many of my treasures. And, I'm not sure why...but I suspect it might be because we're going to go home to visit and won't be here...and the fact that we're not able to buy a lot and so, it's feeling slim. Coming here and reading your words has reminded me that I'm looking in the wrong place for Christmas...see? You've given me a gift! I love you!!!!
ReplyDeleteHolly, I understand if your not going to be there and the decorating. Laura and the girls I am sure love them to pieces. I understand about not buying much too, it is more about being together with friends and family, and Christmas is in ones heart. Love to you, your Lions and all your Scotties.
Deletewhat a beautiful and thoughtful post.
ReplyDeletehello, my friend.

Merry Christmas Christina, I will be by to visit. hugs dear friend.
