Oldest I have Ever Been, Yet the Youngest I'll Ever Be!

TODAY  IS THE OLDEST YOU'VE EVER BEEN, YET THE YOUNGEST YOU'LL EVER BE, SO ENJOY THIS DAY WHILE IT LASTS.
The above quote was sent to me in an email.
It made me really think
of what I want in a day and this is what I have come up with.
I want time for myself to have my coffee, moments to start my day with my pets and their unconditional love. A kiss from my hubby just before he leaves for work.  Time for Thai Chi outside
on the patio with the sun shining on me and a bit of wind
sending a slight breeze over my body.
Phone calls or visits where we can enjoy laughs together,
Love me a McDonalds soft ice cream later in the day.
A hot shower, fixing myself to babe delicious(okay  its my story)
Off to explore new places, appreciate nature, converse with strangers, small acts of kindness, walking in the park with the dogs. smiling children visiting the pets, holding hands with Hubby, sitting and listening to the elderly talk about their past,
I find that so very interesting, visit with friends, talk to my family, All in all it does not take much to make my day.
Knowing that every day anything is possible and that
every day is a gift. Time  is so precious,
make memories that will last forever!
Looks like I might have a busy day ahead of me.
Have your very best of days.

Believe and Make It Yours!

If you take the time to look up,
you will be surprised by what you see,
to some it is just green in color,
but to me it is an amazing tree,
it offers me shade in the summer,
a place to hang my wind chimes,
that sway back and forth,
making tinkled music,
stopping winds that blow from the north,
It provides me some shelter,
like an umbrella for a rainy day,
The branches make a perfect perch
for birds that come to stay,
Sometimes it is like a movie,
as the birds continue their play,
they swoop and dive, fluttering, they soar,
my very own performance
right outside my pink back door.
Every day we are given many gifts,
they come in many forms,
sometimes in the form of a rainbow
sometimes it is a storm,
When we really see the beauty,
that is when we really live,
So I ask you this,
Have you really had a good look around you,
Do you notice what you see,
Are you a believer,
or are you floating in your negativity.
Some days we need to refocus
To turn our day around.
We can still listen without hearing a single noise,
We can still see when our eyes are shut,
We can still feel without touching a thing,
We can still be rich without having money,
This world I live in is enough,
and so very very much more,
I am enough and I believe it
more than ever before.
I hope you can Have Your Very Best Day!

I should have stayed in bed!

I need to remind you guys that I have a somewhat sarcastic
sense of humor at times,
so keeping that in mind
this is what happened in my day.
I have to build up to today.
..........
Yesterday I went off to pay a visit to my dentist,
It was a new dentist as my other had left to go somewhere else.
No problem, I get in there, they get me all comfortable
in my chair, the young lady seemed a little nervous,
I thought I should be the one that should be nervous.
I have had two sties in my eye only twice in my entire life,
But yesterday it was a doozer, swollen puppy eye
which I can hardly see through.
I was hoping he would not notice,
As if.
He comes in says before I even see him
Miss Cindy what can I do for you,
and he looks up as he sat down.
He made a gallant effort to pretend he had not noticed.
I explained I had a very small chip in my front tooth.
I was laying there thinking he probably thinks I should go to the eye doctor instead.
So ever so slowly he leans in to inspect my chip,
I am sure he had his head held back so as not to come to close.
I thought to myself what a ridiculous morning,
so this strikes me funny and I had about
five cataplexy spells one after another,
which because I was laying down,
I did not fall, but my head kept falling forward as he was trying to fix the chip.
Do you know how hard it is to laugh when something strikes you funny.
He kept telling me to keep my mouth open,
and I was thinking oh sure easy for you to say.
So a day later the tooth is fine,
and the lovely eye continued to swell even more.
......
This am my husband just before work,
kisses me good bye,
and says You look lovely,
I think it is getting better.
So a smile proceeds on my face.
I told him I would see him later before his ball game tonight.
...........
When I did get up I thought
Lord love a duck.
That hubby of mine needs new glasses,
I mean come on I almost ran from the room,
I said almost....
so I thought well I am a vision of lovliness,
I will go do some stuff in the yard.
I put on my worst short and worst tank top,
as there was work to be done,
Of course a hat,
as my age spots are starting to play connect the dots,
I f   I am out there enough they might run all together
and get a tan.
Of course I wear my spf,
afterall it is one size fits all,
okay I am in.
,,,,,,,,,
Within a half an hour,
I no longer look any better,
in fact I am a bright beautiful
shade of tomato red,
Sure am looking sexy today.
..........
so after that I was housebound,,,,
Finally my hubby gets home from work,
says hi beautiful.
Hi honey, and I went to kiss him,
he leaned away from me
and says wow that has gotten huge.
Lovely! He was off to his ballgame
so he had about ten minutes at home
before he had to leave.
Off he goes, looking fine,
out the front door,
gets to the truck,
he is shaking his head,
turns around, comes to the door,
and says I locked my keys in the truck,
I said your kidding, not only did he lock one set in,
but the second as well,
and the clock is ticking,
the one window was open just a crack,
so after about 20 minutes he gets in,
now in a rush to go to ball.
So off he goes in a rush,
A half hour later he calls and says,
Honey guess where I am,
I said Hopefully your playing ball,
He says no,
I am 24 hours too early...
And we both started laughing,
I was sitting on the couch,
the more I laughed the less I could talk to him.
So between the two of us our day
was a little off.
..........
He said tonight
Why are you so red,
I said thats what happens when your outside on a hot day.
Well why were you out so long.
What I was hardly out at all.
Maybe the sun will get rid of the thing on your eye.
I thought to myself,
and would you like tomato lady to peel more
after sitting in the sun.
...............
Note to self,
Why would a man that locked both sets of truck keys in his vehicle,
and go to a game on the wrong night.
give me any suggestions about sitting in the sun, etc.
............
Don't guestion it.
I am off to bed and if I wake up
in the morning,
I might need a trip
to the doctor for antibiotics!
.............
P.s. He does not know if I look any better,
he has been watching hockey ever since
he has come home.
..................
If I told you today was a perfect day,
I don't think you would believe me.
but I do choose to see the good in the day.
No one dropped in for a visit,
my husband did not hurt himself playing ball,
The weather was wonderful.,
And Red Is Not My Color!

A Christmas Dream!

Most of You Know My Dad Past Away the End of May!
He seems to be more in our minds this past month.
We miss him and loved him so!
..............
I have to tell you about my dream!
It was just my Dad and I and we were sitting in a room!
I said Dad I miss you,
He looked at me with his one eyebrow raised,
I said Dad I really miss you!
He then gave me a great bear hug!
I swear I could hear him and smell him!
I felt the warmth, and he smiled at me!
I awoke with a start,
feeling very content!
And that was all I could remember.
.............
I believe he paid me a visit to let me know he is not too far away!
I know this sounds crazy!
It was the best gift I could have ever had this Christmas!
..............
He has not been there before in my dreams,
But I do realize or feel he is somehow watching and with us!
I hope no one thinks I have been sipping the Eggnog!
I feel better to believe than to not,
So it must be a good thing!
........
It was my Hallmark moment for the Season!

Whoo Hoo! A Present

Here is yesterdays sunrise, I know lately I keep talking about them,
there really is a reason, because I am transfixed by them!
To awaken in the morning in pitch darkness and to have the day unfold
before you, how can one not be happy?
I wonder what beauty shall light the sky today!
What is just over the horizon?
I could start my day by listening to the news,
Sometimes I find that a little unsettling.
So I choose to shift my eyes upward and forward
to the gift of newness that has arrived!
All those years I worked,
Why can't I remember the sunrises or the sunsets?
I think, then, I was too busy to see!
This is a gift I won't soon forget!
Have your very Best Day!

Hostage Taking!

So what a day I had today, At 11 o'clock I turned on the T.V. to watch The View as I am a huge time Whoopi Golberg fan! The T.V. cuts to a newsflash that there has been a Hostage Taking downtown at
The Workers Compensation Board. There are over 700 people that work in that building alone. Apparently an upset gentleman came in with a weapon, fired it into the ceiling and grabbed some hostages and proceeded to the conference room on Floor Eight!
They showed the police getting everyone out of the building all day long and at about eight negotions had stopped  and the police were ushering the man from the building. All I have learned is that he had been denighed for wcb benefits. he said the doctor damaged his knee further.. this had been going on for five years. Apparently his wife is suing for custody. I have no more details than that...
First of all I am so thankful that no one was physically injured, and that the situation did not escalate into more serious of a situation!

I myself have dealt with insurance companies, and sometimes what they put you through is absolutely amazing, and I do not mean that in a good way. Very seldom is your first application approved and often, denied, denied, denied will come back. I believe what they try to do is to wear people down so that there is no fight left in them and from reading nine out of ten cases are dropped before going to quart.

SO, I absolutely do not agree with what he has done, I do wonder what has happened to push someone to making such a poor life altering decision, with no thought as to the outcome or the innocent people in the situation. I sometimes wonder about our hard economic situation, with cutbacks, etc,
Tomorrow I am sure we will here more,Apparently he wanted to talk to the media to have his story told!
It gives you a very strange feeling to have these things happen so close to home.

Other than that I have been trying to fix my computer problems as I can not get on all my blogs, I think the next thing I will do is going to fix the problem.
Note to self, if it does not work shut off the computer, call it a night!
It is my bedtime, I think I need to unwind a bit.
maybe a hot tea before bed.

Do You See What I See?

Do you see what I see? It freaked me right out today.
This picture was taken when we had our last fire in our firepit,
I had looked at the pictures and thought how nice they were of the fire,
But now that Halloween is looming around the corner,
I have obviously taken a different viewpoint!
That or maybe my imagination is running rampant,
or I had too much Baileys in my coffee!
Kidding I am not much of a coffee drinker,
oh sorry, I mean Baileys!
Years ago I went to Florida to go to Disneyworld,
I have to admit I did not fare so well,
We went through the haunted house on a train ride.
My sister and I were side by side and I looked over at her,
and there was a ghost sitting right between us.
I screamed so loud I scared my sister,
This is before I got sick with Cataplexy!
Now I would not be able to go,
beccause being startled is one of the trigger points!
No horrow movies for me either!
So let me know do you see what I see?

sept 25, My Brightest Day!

What a beautiful sunrise  to start a perfect day. I  sit  on the bench and marvel  in the beauty  that for me is on display!  I wonder did it wait for me to make it My Very Best Day.  Did God know I would enjoy this gift sent from up above, a moment to cherish, my heart filled with love.  As the sun gets higher in the sky , the red is almost gone. The warmth is wrapped around me holding me so tight. I feel so alive and blessed, and I will be back tonight when slowly the day fades into night ,  I will sit and watch in my same place, but look the other way and maybe I will reflect on all the thinghs I was able to do on my 46th Birthday!  Life is all about how we look at things. I see beauty, love and life.

Live In The Moment!

I just love this picture. Bright colors make me feel so alive. The weather here today was 31 degrees celcius, It was just beautiful, just like a hot summer day, I went out to water the remaining flowers in my beds knowing that soon there could be a layer of snow like a blanket covering them, but for now, some are continuing to last as long as they can until they come again in spring! It really has been a good summer. On Friday I turn 46 years old, This really is a wonderful time of my life! I am so grateful that I know who I am and truly like myself, although every day is a new opportunity to learn something more! I pause and sit back and think, how did this happen! And the only thing I can say is that when my father passed away earlier in this year, I decided that every moment is not one to be wasted, that every  moment and day is another gift, and that no matter what obstacles that I meet, that I can get through them and face them head on! Oh if only I knew at 20 what I know now,,,but I am sure at 92 I will say, if only I knew at 46 what I know now.....Life is great, I am gonna leap over the fence one day! For now I will just go around knowing that both sides are just as green. It is going to be my Very, very Best Day.
P.S When I turn 50 I want to skydive, my niece keeps saying no, if you have a spell you won't be able to pull the cord...so Kels if your reading this you have to go with me. Yes you read that right!

Swimming Anyone?

Now I have to make sure and say NO this is not in my yard. lol. I sure do wish it was though. This was taken also at the Bouchart Gardens in Victoria, B.C. I can just hear the water splashing in the distance, I love listening to the sound of running water outside....no not in a sink, or tub, but out in nature. The water seems to have a language all its own. If you listen real closely, it sounds like a symphony orchestra. I am a simple girl with simple dreams. With my illness I have taken the time to listen to running water, to sit in the rain, to watch a sunset or a sunrise, to smell the flowers...For awhile I was so upset because I was no longer the person I used to be, active, alive, outgoing, up for anything and suddenly I had limitations..Now I don't feel that way anymore, I go on living sometimes a little differently, I am challenging myself more again and learning that I am right where I am supposed to be...Now I know swimming is out of the question. If I saw myself in a bathing suit that would be enough to cause me to have a cataplexy spell, or I would fall under the water....My friend Neener says she will make sure she pulls me out in time. I think I will sit on a hill watching or have a picnic and a couple of bottles of wine ready for my blogland friends too. I picture Holly, Toni, Beth, Char, Ribbon, Christine,Cam, Kathie, brandi, janet all having a gabfest and laughing and just enjoying the day. One of us would have a great big hat for sun protection, another I think would have a teensy weeny yellow polka dot bikini, some would be toting that pomegranite lemonade, maybe Holly would haave captured Rachel Ray. bETH, Char, Cam could all take pictures, brandi could be our joy rebeller and Janet would probably be making things....I think it would a fab day. I know I have missed some friends...In my mind we are already there, just close your eyes and imagine...do you hear the water....I can, shhhh, I am listening.....

Roads to Travel

Do you ever wonder what is in store for you next, where will you end up, or what will you do, whom will you see? Lately I am struck on the fact that your whole life can change in a moment by the decisions you make, the kindness in your heart, the wisdom in your mind. I wonder if we counted all the roads we travel in our mind, would it surpass the actual travelled roads we have been on. Just a thought to make you wonder.....
Right now I am travelling off to bed and will continue onward and upward tomorrow. Goodnight. ...oh I always say about the utility lines that they seem to make their way into my photos. If you look really close, they are there once again. lol

glasses and more glasses part 2

stephen was a little fellow about 6 or 7. An eye exam was done and he needed new glasses so i went to help him pick out a pair. he tried one pair on ...yes these were what he wanted, i told him let's try a few more....the second pair....yes these were what he wanted. same with the third. I thought he does not care how they look, so i said stephen let's get your buddies to come over and see what they think....So finally we had picked a pair....He was to come back in an hour to get his new glasses. He came in and picked up his glasses which were fitted for him...yes he could see much better. he was given a case and told how to take care of them...we proceeded to finish with the rest of the kids. As stephen was leaving i said stephen why are'nt you wearing your glasses. He looked up at me with big brown eyes and said....oh no i can't wear them in case I LOSE THEM. ....I will never forget him....I just wanted to give him a hug and cry....so if anyone out there has old glasses please donate them to the vision programs. That little boy was special and a year later when the next class came in I asked about stephen and the teacher said, oh yes he wore his glasses and was able to see the blackboard and had passed into the next grade. So I guess he got over the thought of losing them. I think of him often at what one little thing can make all the difference...be it a pair of glasses, a smile, or a kind word....
