These Boots Were Made For Walking

These boots I found on Pinterest, yes that is where I have been.
Now every now and then you find something that screams your name

unfortunately no it was not my husband in the throws of passion,
it was this pair of boots. If I were a pair of boots these would be them,
fun loving, artsy fartsy, joyful, flower child, living with attitude,
rockin out, getting down, diva baby.....getting my groove on
walking down the street. Would I strut, yes probably like a chicken,
but I would know in those boots I was all that and a bag of chips.
Do I worry about the rest of the outfit no because those are
some draw me some attention my way boots.
Slapped by a piece of reality,
me in orthotics walking the dog,
No the dog should not notice.
............
Can you guess how many cups of coffee I have had this morning,
there just may be a surprise.
Have a wonderful weekend,
I hope to get around to visit everyone.
Take Care,
Cinner

I think Fairies Dwell in My Two Pictures, Fairies and Fireflies!

colors make up the passion in ones soul,
for life, excitement, adventures
and ones imagination.

Colors can soothe you, compliment you,
irritate you, distress you,
cheer you and enfold you.
colors can make us explore
areas of the mind that
without color would lay dormant.
colors are like books,
each having their own story.
like words on a page.
Favorite colors change from day to day
effected by different stages of our lives.
What is your favorite color and why
I would love to hear.
The two pictures above were photos of flowers that I had taken,
then I played with textures and the end results.
If you wish to copy either image,
go ahead.
hope this finds you well,
have a wonderful day.

It is Almost Like Art!

So what happens when the hot water tap
burst off the taps
on a very cold day in Canada.
There was water everywhere,
and there was so much steam from the hot water
I did not have access to the shut off valve
which was in the crawl space.
Note to self...need to be able to lift trap door!
Hubby saved the day as he rushed home from work,
in the meantime and there is no other way to put this.
I about froze my glass off.
....

I can be grateful it warmed up today.
All the ice crystals have melted,
I found new taps online
.......
I wonder how fast the tap flew by my head.
No one was hurt during this fiasco.
Have a great weekend,

Another point of view.

Woof, Kula here. I have to tell you I love the winter, I am American Eskimo/Corgi/Bassett
according to the SPCA. Cinner well she just seems to think I am a pain in her backside...
I don't think I can be that big of a pain. Cinner has not taken kindly to me chasing
her precious cat Stimky.....just on the name alone it should be eaten.
All the dogs in the neighborhood laugh at me because I am supposed to be nice to the kitty.
Sometimes Cinner opens the door at night and calls out "Here Stinky, Here Stinky!"
No wonder the people walk on the other side of the street, I am starting to get a Complex.
The Boxer Luka from next door won't even play with me in the yard. Oh well She is always
crying anyway, always has big teary eyes. Maybe it is sad over there, who knows.
You should see in the spring when Stinky comes in the yard, if I chase her really really
fast, she sometimes ends up in the pond, but with all this white stuff on the yard
Stinky won't come out because it is too cold. What a wimp. I don't want to see hide nor hair
of the house unless when they are feeding me, or when I want to go and see Cinner.
She likes to brush me all the time and I think she is a little coocoo for cocopuffs
because she vacummes me, Oh yes she does, and while she is vacumming me she says,
Is'nt that nice, oh that feels so good. I don't know but if she had her skin sucked up
until she thought it might  disappear just maybe she might have second thoughts.....next time she says Is'nt that nice I just might
pee on her leg and I will tell her Oh that feels so good.! Oh don't tell her that, I am supposed to be
a Good Boy or she sends me to the porch. ewwwwwwww like I am really scared,
I am shaking in my furry 65 pound body, she is gonna send me to the porch,
heck I will even go outside on a minus 20 day, its like a walk in the park.
Send me to the porch, ha she cracks me up!
Besides all I gotta do is sit and look at Cinner for about a half an hour,
and I stare at her and I try really hard not to blink,
She stares back at me and then finally says Shite ,
okay, let's go for a walk.
This training thing is working out pretty good lately,
I have been watching Ceasar Romero on T.V.
usually the problems are with the owners.
Yep things are working out just fine.
I think it could be my best day ever,
If only she would hurry up!
.........
Have a great weekend.

;Lets Be The Village, December and Plans

December,
can you believe it!
Today is my sister Lauries Birthday,
I just had a long talk to her on the phone,
She is always a good way to start my day.
.........
Another way I like to start the day
is to go over to my friend Se'lahs blog.
She gets us together for Random Act of Kindness,
Gift of Jewels,
and now  is giving of her heart once again.
Please visit her.
at her blog Necessary Room.
She has a heart of gold,
and it is for a very good cause.
Thanks.
..............
I grew up on a farm as most of you know,
Christmas was always a time for gatherings.
Sometimes there would be 25 - 30 people there.
We always had my Grandmother and my Great Aunt would come from where she lived,
and thinking of Christmas this year,
I am really missing all the people that have left earth as they were called.
So my hubby and I are going to go home for Christmas.
It will be a small Christmas but it will still be wonderful.
I will call my Mom tonight,
She has been asking me for days,
I keep saying As soon as Wain knows if he can get the time off, I will let you know.
So conversation yesterday went something like this,
Mom: Did Wain find out yet if he gets the time off?
Me: Mom the paperwork just went in yesterday.
Mom: Well all they have to say is yes or no.
Me: That would be great, but the days off have to be approved and go through the proper chanels.
Mom; What Chanels,? Did you say Chanels?
Me: Chanel 18 the music chanel
Mom: What?
Me; Mom the proper channels, he has to get authorization from his boss, whom has to get
authorization from his boss.. Then they will let us know. and I will let you know ASAP
Mom: Well I just don't understand why Wain can't go in and say he is going home for Christmas, how about if I phone them?
Me; Mom that is like having your Mommy phone in sick for you?
Mom, Well I could do that too at the same time.
Me, oh for sure Mom, do you have a pen?
Mom; Just a minute, (I can hear her walking away talking to herself saying, she will get this straightened out.)
Me thinking...Lord Love a Duck...which just happens to be one of her sayings. hearing her footsteps, shes coming.
Mom: okay I got the pen and paper.
Me, The number is 1-800-not a chance!
Mom: laughing saying, well I thought it might work.
Me; Mom as soon as I know I will let you know.
We were both laughing by this time.
some of our conversations seem a little strange.
............
So when Wain came home last night, he told me everything had been approved.
So tonight I will let her know,
and I know she will say, see he did not have to go through any channels.
But she will be happy knowing we are coming home,
and so are we!
........
I hope you have the Very Best of Days

Odds & Ends.

Hi Everybody,
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving,
Yesterday it was such a beautiful day here,
the sun was out, the air was so fresh,
it was only minus four, it was simply
wonderful.
The above picture is a little
Christmas Tree I made
It was the first or
second year
I
was
ill.
To me it was one of my favorite trees
because we were together,
I had no energy for much,
so we really appreciated
every little thing.
So I am
now officially in Christmas mode,
I just have to make some decisions
as to where we will be for Christmas.
but in the meantime I still have to get my cards out,
baking done, packages wrapped,
and then right after my nephew is getting married January 15.
So I have a feeling this month is going to fly by.
So I am going to make a list and start being more organized.
My hubby and I have the weekend together,
It is Grey Cup weekend here,
so the town is abuzz with all the excitement.
I am glad the weather warmed up too,
I can't imagine if it had been as cold as last week.
................
I won't be around much over the weekend,
so plan on catching up with all of you next week.
May you embrace your day
and Have your Very Best Day!

3rd Coldest Place on the Planet

You know it is cold when.....
-Rudolph has been sited in your back yard.
-your husband looks muscular in his parka
-when you choose to have a bath with a hat and scarf,
-when defrost has nothing to do with your fridge,
-when longjohns are your sexy nightwear,
-when adding a log to the fire means the whole tree,
-when going for a walk means to the next room,
when lets get under the covers means everyone you have.
-when your doorbell freezes,
-when you enjoy holding a full coffee pot,
-when the cat and dog are snuggled as best friends,
-when your flipping a coin to see whom will answer the door.
-you know its cold when your brain is frozen
and your writing ridiculous posts
that crack you up.,
what would you add to the list
............................
p.s.
I am really grateful to have a warm place to live in,
please pray for the homeless,
and if you can donate any blankets to the shelters
it would be most appreciated,
thank you.
......................
It is supposed to warm up by the weekend,
and when I say mild is minus ten,
it is almost like a tropical day
in comparison.
........
Knock knock,
oh the husband is at the backdoor,
I better let him in.
Stay warm.

I aINT no Speedy Gonzales Today!

It was a dark and cloudy night in Alberta,
when suddenly between the old adobe haciendas
came the cry of a middle age housewife
La La laa la lala la la la laaaa,
Oh me aching back,
the other day went crack,
I have been sitting with the heating pad,
I can't get out of bed no more,
I am staring at the ceiling,
I can't get my feet to touch the floooooor
............
for some reason I have that song
Speedy Gonzales running around in my head,
purchance too much pain medication.
I believe I will be going to emergency today.
Once I am in a sitting position I am ok for a little while,
but getting out of bed is very very hard,
I am not sure what they will be able to do for me,
I have not ever hurt it this bad...
How do you ask?
Opening the fridge door and picking up a container of French Vanilla Yogurt.
What the heck.
So if I am not around for a few days you will know why.
I will be back as soon as I can,
when I am not a hurting unit.

My Balance stone Arrived, and Good vs. Evil, and a Slightly Sad Cinner

Every once in a while life can take the wind out of our sails.
I have to admit I am feeling a bit like that,
I can usually shake most things off like water off of a ducks back,
I have always believed in helping one another,
doing the right thing, not standing  idly by when someone is in trouble.
So I have a real hard time understanding when others turn their backs
on others and by doing so should they be free without any consequences.
I am referring to an alleged incident between a 16 year old boy
supposedly assaulting      a twelve year old girl in a schoolyard while eight other people
watched. From what I understand the  16 year old boy was arrested,
and interviews were being done with the eight other people
whom stood idly by and did nothing to help.
This saddens me so and  I want to scream,
Why, how could you watch, how could you live with yourself,
As a victim of a senseless violent act,
I also am ashamed that I did not charge my attackers,
all because I thought I would be blamed.
That was 33 years ago. I have written about this before
because of two courageous bloggers that had told their own stories.
I guess this incident has just brought issues back to the surface,
I pray for her that she finds the strength she will need.
My nephew is twelve and was very shaken up by this
as the girl goes to his school and is the same age.
...................
I pray that the world will change,
and it starts with all people,
may you smile at somehow whom is frowning,
may you acknowledge a passerby,
may you sit with someone whom is lonely,
may we all become better listeners,
for their are peoples stories all around us
that need to be heard,
To make a difference
it just takes one person,
one person at a
time.
And all we have to do is care.
It really should be very simple.
....................
Lastly I want to thank Julie, (Julchoka) all the way from Denmark.
She had donated  for the Gift of Jewels.  a Beautiful rock that has a painted feather on it.
I was lucky enough to win this and was thrilled
It represents balance. Balance is what I need,
a Balance of the good and the bad.
Oh when I  have friends that go to other places travelling,
a lot of times they will ask what to bring me back,
I tell them just pick me up a rock off the beach,
or the ground. These are places I will probably never get to.
So to hold this beautiful rock from Denmark makes me
happy, and I have a little piece from some other part of the world.
And I am reminded of goodness and kindness, that somehow in this world,
I believe that  still far outweighs  the bad.
She also sent a beautiful friendship bracelet.
What a lovely surprise.
Also thank you to Se'lah for putting the Gift of Jewels together.
..............
Until next time,

It Could Happen Like This.

Not too far in the distant future,
fall will have arrived,
it will not be soon enough for me.
There is so much I love about each season,
after given much thought there really is not one I enjoy more than the rest.
The dying of my summer flowers has me now waiting for the miracle of colors
that will soon surround me as softly they fall from the trees,
falling, swaying ever so gently, towards the ground,
where they will lay as a blanket upon the once green grass.
If fall were here today I would take your hand in mine,
we would run down this path,
listening to the rustling of the leaves,
skipping, laughing and singing,
We would just enjoy the moment,
We would hear a branch snap in half,
we look and gaze into a pair of deep brown eyes
for only a second, then the dear springs forth and leaps away.
Breathless by that moment and eager for another we lingered,
and then were beckoned onward by the running water we could hear ahead,
With each step the noise becoming more clearer,
our walk had taken us to a path down by the water,
the fast running river surging past us leaving white caps on the water,
across the path on the other side was a picture perfect scene,
a beaver dam, the remains of chopped down trees sharpened like pencils,
and a sunset upon the water,
the smell is a rich dampness full of richness and life.
that may lay dormant until Springs has sprung again.
We now had to make our way back to the other end,
back up to where we were staying,
just at the base of the mountain,
we would have time later to talk,
for now we are enjoying the moment.
taking it all in.
Enjoy whatever your day brings your way!

Poppies, Dogs, and the sun.

Poppies Abundant in my yard,
Fighting to hang on as nightly they are blown and whipped around
and rained upon the ground,
Somehow in the morning, things turn around,
the sun comes up they stretch again
to say hello to the sun.
Maybe because of our heavy rains
is the reason why they wrap their petals all around them,
protecting themselves from the elements.
Tonight I listen to the fireworks,
and lay my hand on my dogs head,
I tell him he is okay,
but no he growls and barks,
I try to protect him from the elements.
Tonight he will sleep by our bed,
feeling protected and safe,
and in the morning, things turn around,
he will go outside, forgetting the noise
the sun comes up, he stretches again,
to say hello to the sun.

Come sit on a Park Bench

a grand Saturday morning to you all,
Come and sit on my hot pink bench,
and we will have a chit chat,
I have mixed berry smoothies made
as it is going to be another hot one.
The glasses were chilled,
they are going to be oh so tasty,
My camera is on the fritz so you will just have to take my word for it.
A while back we went to one of the parks in the city,
We were there to spend a few hours,
needed a change of scenery,
so we watched the birds in the water,
ducks and seagulls fighting over
their water findings,
making rather loud screeching noises,
I enjoyed it.
After a while we decided to go for a walk.
sure lots of things to check out.
I could take my time and make it from one bench to another,so it sounded like a good plan.
and we came along this lovely pair of Canada Geese,
are they not the cutest pair,
sitting on the hill, resting,
basqing in the sun,
and because I am a romantic,Well they must be in love.
Not all of a sudden they were up and running,
yes straight towards me,
I wanted to scream Crazed Geese on the loose,
But what Did I do instead,
I yelled Get the truck, Get the truck.
I am a short round woman with legs shorter than theres,
I was running as fast as I could go,
I looked over my shoulder,
oh they were gaining on me,
As I was running I was thinking,
ah, my goose is cooked,
They were gaining, gaining,
and I jumped up on the park picnic table,
praying, keep going, keep going,
There is a God,
because they continued,
and I saw ahead a few kids
holding a bag of bread crumbs,
yeah for the dried stale bread,
My husband was not far away with the truck.
so I walked over and we had a laugh,
I told him I thought I was gonna be a gonner.
I have seen how protective they can be of their young. and I know they can be mean,Well I fixed this last one.
I said as I got close to this one,
you run at me again,
might just put you in my roasting pan.
Well that goose took on out of there as
fast as the Road Runner.,
and I thought to myself Beep, Beep,
oh it was Hubby, time to go.
............
For the record no animals or humans were injured in the taking of these
photos.  Note to self bring bread crumbs just in case.
.....................................................
Hey do you want another smoothie,
Yes, me too,
then I got to paint the other bench,
and touch up my back door
which is the same color..
.................
So I will be around sometime next week,
hopefully with a new camera and new photos by then.
Enjoy your weekend,
may you run into nothing but happiness.
Have your Best Weekend ever!

I Need To Get Out More!

Hey There,
pleas excuse my dirty windows.
Between the dog licking them and the cat
scratching at the glass trying to get out,
it should be a daily task,
but it's not,
but if I know your coming,
especially my Mom,
I will do a major clean..
.............
Things You May Want to Know About Me.
I like my alone time, more and more as I get older,
But I think I could easily become a Hermit,
I work very hard at not turning into one
and force myself to go out.
I love to Kareoke (spelling)
Favorite Song. to sing..Get Here by Oleta Adams
My Wedding Song, Walk Through This World With Me.
I have three tatoos., two are of flowers, birds and rainbows,
the third is a Geisha lady walking over a bridge on my back.
It was a phase(note to self....I should not have married the tatooist, we later divorced.
There was much happiness, joy and dancing amongst my family members....
I Changed my name back to my Maiden name two days after we split up.
I knew I could be strong with my own name.
I grew up in a Catholic household and I managed a Love Shop for six years.
Not once in six years did my family ask how my job was,
except for my Grandma....
She said, Dear, what do they sell in that store of yours,
I said well lotions and potions, lingerie, books,
and other interesting stuff for couples that are exploring their sexuality.
(I could not say too much, I sure did not want to be responsible for her having a Heart Attack)
She then said, Well I don't know what the big to do is all about then.
Hah, Bless Her Little Heart.
There was much happiness, joy and dancing  amongst my family
when I left that job.
I am a free spirit, somewhat of a Camelian, and love to laugh.
I don't believe in wasted time, The past is a step to your future,
and somehow you get to where you need to be.
When I married my second and current husband,
There was much happiness, joy and dancing amongst my family.
He truly is the Love of My Life.
He is My Forever,
I loved working in the Optical Field,
especially with the Gift of Sight Program.
Please donate old your old glasses to a Vision program.
I am quite Spiritual, very seldom go to church,
but he is here with me every day and I am a believer.
My husband and I say our prayers together every night as we lay in bed.
I am short round and cute, and he is tall, thin and handsome.
The thing that makes me swoon the most is someones smile, eyes, a deep voice.
A deep voice makes my knees weak.
.................
Well I have probably bored you enough for one day.
Today I am going to get out in my yard,
Friends are Coming Over.
One is bringing Sushi,
So we will have a visit, a lot of laughs, so I sit down when they are here.
They understand my Cataplexy and what I go through.
I know it is hard for them to see me fall, or have my head drop when we laugh,
But we all agree a life without laughter would not be much of a life at all.
So there will be much happiness, joy and dancing amongst my friends and I.
It might be my Best Day Ever.

I am one lucky Gal!

Oh Jeepers I thought this was gonna be a picture
You never know what you will find on her blog,
but I will tell you this,
everything always looks good over there.
Sarah is a very talented artist and photographer.
She is the Leader of an Arts Group,
runs e-classes, has five children, etc.
I swear she is so busy and accomplishes so much
that I am always commenting on how she gets so much stuff done in one day.
I recently won her giveaway and I was so excited.
Today it arrived by UPS.
Thank you Sarah,
I was so thrilled to open your treasures, that now are my treasures.
There were 4 beautiful cards made from her photography,
My camera does absolutely no justice to her work.
I am such a nature lover so I was thrilled to receive these.

Is this not the funnest thing,
I can not help but smile at this print of her artwork.
I don't think she knows that I really love sunflowers and ladybugs,
I will be placing this in a frame in my kitchen.
Every morning when I grab my coffee,I will start my day off with a smile.
And look at this, it is going in my  kitchen too.
Again when I look at this I just feel happy,
and want to go outside and play in my garden.
I think the colors are fabulous and they will look great
up against my bamboo wallpaper.
Sarah has already started getting ready for Halloween
doing some amazing artwork.
It is her favorite Holiday, so you will want to check out her Etsy site.

And I have to say when I saw this,
I thought Wow,
such intricate detail.
It is absolutely gorgeous,
the size is about 4 x 4
I showed it to my husband and he said,
"Look at the lines, they are perfect."
Now this is coming from a man whom would not notice if I colored my hair,
so to hear him say this confirms to me what a great artist she is.
But I already knew it.
So Sarah, thank you so much. You need to know these pieces of
Art will be treasured every day.
Thank you again, I consider myself so very blessed.
.............
Please  go have a visit, You will love her blog.
And you will love her.
.......
Have a great day everyone.
May the sun shine and May you have
Your Best Day Ever.

Running Water, Butterflies, and Cherubs.

I close my eyes and listen to the trickle of the water,
Just enough water spilling out of the bowl
to make me think I am at a babbling brook.
I feel a bird breeze by me,
I open my eyes,
The bird lingers long enough to take a drink,
and then it darts away in flight.
I admire the cherubs and think that I will put some colored glass marbles
so that it will have some added sparkle in the bowl.
The little birds fight at the bath,
determined who will go first,
sometimes one or two at a time will have a bath,
fluttering their wings,
I have had the butterflies visit as well,
and I sit at the table across from it with my hand outheld.
I had a butterfly land on my hand once,
It truly was one of those ah ha moments
in my life,
Such a sense of calmness, total peace, total trust,
total curiosity, and then suddenly it was gone,
and then I breathed.
What a memorable moment.
....................
May your day be a wonderfully happy one,
I hope you cherish you and everything you come in contact today.
And if you are near the water, just close your eyes, sit and listen,
to the most beautiful music, for where there is water,
there is usually birds,
and with birds sometimes a song.
..............................................
I hope you are having one of your very best days ever

Flowers, Turkey Legs and Holding Hands!

Hubby came home with these from the grocery store last night,
I was thrilled, even without any editing they are very very pale,
kinda like my legs in the summer.
I can wear tank tops and get a nice upper body tan,
but those legs of mine must be covered by enough shade
so they stay turkey leg white, but that is not all
white legs with cellulite, oh yeah baby,
now theres what I am talking about,
If anyone ever wants a picture of a turkey leg and you don't have one.
Just call, you can have a choice of the right or the left.
Gosh it is easy to get off track today,

I used to always take daisies when I was young and foolish,
and would go he loves me, he loves me not, he loves me,
What silliness......
I would not destroy a beautiful flower doing that anymore,
unless it were a bouquet of dandelions!
Although in a strange odd way they are pretty too,
the city no longer sprays for them.
I have one of those tools,
you put it over the flower, step on it, pull the handle towards you,
and voila you have the flower and the root.
Years ago early spring just as the dandelions would be coming up,
my Dad and us kids would go dig up the roots for a salad.
I have to be honest I never did acquire a taste for them,
But he always thought he had something.
It is a good memory now

These are coming up all over the yard,
they grow wild in my garden
they are solid yellow and some are solid orange.
I was surprised my little point and shoot camera
got all of what to me looks like fuzz.
There must be a name for it.

Here is some proof that every once in a while some work still gets done around here,
when I cut it I go the length of my grass from my pink bench and back,
then I rest, and this keeps up until I am done.
As you can see some days I get to supervise.

And here is one of my favorite views from the yard,
Since I took this photo  a few days ago, everything has grown so much,
so there will be more yard work to do.
Even though it takes me forever,
I love it, and thank goodness I do,
for it has brought me many hours of enjoyment and peace.
Well the sun is shining,
we had a huge wind storm last night,
so I got a wee bit of work to be doing!
Have a wonderful weekend,,,
also Happy 50th wedding anniversary to Beth's parents.
That always inspires me!
There is also nothing more beautiful than an elderly couple holding hands.
Do you agree, or am I just a sentimental gal with turkey legs.
lol
Have fun!

Up On the Roof.

Such beauty in an old roof,
the wood once painted
bright brown red.
as little kids we looked up at the roof,
on the back attached was a little old shed.
Beside was a big old tree,
and if we could grab the branch,
and swing our  legs.
Up on the old garage roof we would be.
We would sit and tell stories hoping to never get caught,
Because we all knew, we were supposed to be up there, not.
So we would take turns as a lookout,
And if we saw the adults  coming back from their work,
we would jump down into the trees and that is where we would lurk.
I remember many a skinned hand or knee,
somehow it was always harder getting down than going up a tree.
The old roof still stands on the farm today,
Some would say knock it down,
But I would say, Please let it stay!
..................
I hope you see the beauty in everything around you.
Have a fabulous day.
Take care.
